Mount Vernon PHOTOS
We visited Mount Vernon this weekend. Mount Vernon was the home of George Washington and his family. The property was beautiful. We went on a weekend when there was a 18th-Century Craft Fair going on so there were many people dressed in period wear, making crafts and food food (like the women above making liquid chocolate from coco beans for an old fashioned chocolate drink). We had the opportunity to take a boat tour on the Potomac River to see the property from the water. Mount Vernon also has some amazing museums with shows. One of the shows that we attended was a in a multi media movie theater with a 3D show, when the cannons would go off red lights would flash around the room and your chair would vibrate, and when the solders were walking through snow on the screen a snow machine kicked in over our heads and it actually snowed in the room.
